[Highlights: All about Kundalini, Kundalini Yoga, and the Chakras] [Highlight: Free will, does it exist?] [Highlight: a Dream interpretation] [The trip to NY with Linda Brown and Linda Mayhew] [This is the last meeting in the W.O.W. Hall]

SERENA: Now we are ready to talk or maybe learn something. If everyone will get all settled and calm and peaceful and open.

(tape change) (From what follows, there was a question about "kundalini".)

SERENA: So I thought that that tonight would be a good thing for us to think about.

The kundalini, as it is called, is one aspect of the power of the Divine Mother of Creation. And when thinking about that I would talk about this, because I decided the other day, I know that with a lot of people they wouldn't want to hear about it, but a lot would. So I thought it could just be a very educational talk. If we don't believe, then we can learn about what other people believe. So.

The kundalini is one aspect, only one aspect, of the Divine Mother's power, and it is likened unto... The Divine Mother is like all mothers - she loves to play with her children. And this being one aspect of her power, sometimes she gives it to her children to play with. She plays with her children in what is called the Cosmic Game, or the Eternal Game. But this kundalini power is only one aspect of her power, and she in truth is total purity and far beyond the kundalini power that is given to men. It is said that the kundalini in 99 out of every 100 cases gets misused. That's a lot.

The kundalini is a power that lies within all of man. It is spiritual power in a way. We have seven centers in our bodies. Not in the physical body but in what is called the subtle body. And these seven centers or seven churches or seven lotuses or seven lights or seven houses or seven temples, whatever we wish to call them, are in all of us. And inside these centers, or these chakras, as they are called, each of them contains a different aspect of the one aspect of the Divine Mother’s kundalini power. The seven centers are: first, the root chakra or what is known by many to be the lower vital, as it is called. These are the lower desires of man many times rest here. And then we have the spleen chakra and the navel chakra and the heart chakra, which is many times called Anahata, which is a beautiful word, and the throat chakra, and the center between our eyes, which is called the Ajna, and then the crown chakra right in the very top. Now these are within our spiritual bodies, not our physical. But inside each of these lies a power latent within us all.

Now in most of us right now these chakras are bolted from the inside and they are not activated, but through purity, and sometimes through meditation and contemplation, they are awakened. Now these centers contain for us spiritual knowledge, awareness, and when, through purity, the centers open then we become aware of being one with the universe. It is said that these chakras are connected with the universe within us, and that the spiritual heart, which is the most important thing of all, is within these centers. Each of these centers look like a wheel and when they become activated, they turn like a wheel within us.

Of course we have more than seven chakras, we have many, but we have seven significant ones. We have a chakra in each knee and in the instep of our foot, at the end of our toes, and the ends of our fingers, just to name a few. The whole idea of what we are doing on earth is to purify. And when we purify we seek to open these channels of awareness. And what I want to talk about tonight is what is called kundalini yoga, which is not waiting to be purified. It's more a "running to the gate," in a way. You meditate and you contemplate on the chakras and the whole idea is to activate them, to bring about what is called occult power. Each of these centers contain a different kind of pover. To give you an example - the root chakra, which is the first one, right below the spleen, once you activate that and become master over that chakra you can make yourself invisible if you want to. Wouldn't that be nice! So people sit around and do that and they can become invisible, and this is given to any man who wants to do it. But the only thing is many people feel (I should talk into the mike) many people feel that kundalini is spiritual awakening, but in truth it is not. When we contemplate and meditate on the chakras to bring about this kundalini power, it by no means takes us closer to God-realization. Because we are like children, children on a playground, and the Divine Mother shows us her power and we get all excited, and we say, "You can do that! I want to do that too." Typical children wanting to be like their mothers.

And so after a while she says, "If you're good." And when we are good she gives us kundalini power and we can walk on water and disappear. People have actually contemplated and meditated to awaken the kundalini centers just so that they can know what their girlfriend thinks of them, or to know what the man down the street does. All these powers are available, but this is misusing them. And when this happens it is sometimes thousands of years before we ever come to God-consciousness - it puts us back that far because we have misused God.

So the Mother, the Divine Mother, plays a cosmic game, and when we ask for them she give us one minute part of her power, and if we use it well, then we are taken on to heights that we can't even believe. But if we misuse it, then we are in trouble. Because you see, the kundalini is the Mother's game with us, and we reach a certain point where Father takes over. And the typical Divine Father says, "Now, Son, you've played around long enough. Now it is time for you to grow up. And I want you to start learning and make something of yourself, and benefit that world." And so that's what we do.

Kundalini Yoga is very interesting. It consists of two major things - contemplation and meditation. One method is to learn total, complete contemplation. Like contemplating on a very minute and small item for long periods of time. They say to start with your thumb, and you contemplate on that thumb, and you say to yourself, "I have nothing but a thumb, nothing but a thumb." And you contemplate so that you forget you have a physical body and you forget you have anything but a thumb. And then you seek to know that thumb. And then there is meditation. And there is meditation on the different chakras, and with each chakra they have a different sound. Some of the sounds are "Yam" and "Lam" and "Ham" and one of the most important is up here, which is "Aum," which means Divine Mother...calling the Cosmic Mother. If we are going to meditate and to follow one minute speck of kundalini yoga, it would be to meditate on the heart. It is very dangerous to begin meditation anywhere but the heart and the Ajna center, or the third eye as it is called, the inner eye. These two should work together, which goes along with the story we have talked of, of the heart and the mind becoming eternal friends. When we meditate we should meditate on the heart center and let it pour forth love unto all mankind, all the universe, all beings that you see and don't see, all that are here now and all that shall ever be here and all those in the past. And when that happens, build a bridge from your heart, your heart chakra being right here, unto this one. It should pass the throat area and go right on up to the Ajna center and let the two intertwine. And let them be eternal friends. The Ajna center gives us inner vision, and the reason these are so dangerous sometimes, not to scare you but just to say they are dangerous sometimes, because when the Ajna center is opened up without purification then we find that we can see things and things that scare us. How would it be if you had not purified and had not the understanding to understand that a man is going to be killed, and you can't do anything about it, but you can see it with your inner vision. This poses many problems. And if with inner vision we see that the man shall be killed, and we seek to help him, knowing we shouldn't, then we are in trouble, because the accident can't be avoided. And so many times things like this run into problems.

The throat center, when it becomes activated, is what brings about great poets and great singers and great actors. This opens up a divine channel to wisdom that we can speak truth. And so that's a little bit about that.

The best way to meditate would probably be on the heart center, if you were going to meditate using kundalini yoga, which many people do. But there is also another way, a purer way, and that is to meditate on God's feet and God's love and God's mercy and God's peace. And when we meditate very sincerely on God's feet, throwing ourselves at His feet and becoming as little children, then all the other centers just automatically open up. And we attain a more supreme power than kundalini power, which only stays with us for a little while. We obtain what is called true spiritual awakening. God consciousness is the greatest power in the entire universe because it is eternal. Once we find God consciousness, it stays with us forever. There is no more losing our grasp as we do with kundalini.

I chose to speak about kundalini because I have had a few dealings, I guess you could say, with people who have been involved with kundalini, and I have seen it myself misused even in the past couple of months. And I saw the results when it was misused. Many times it causes insanity because it brings about such a tremendous feeling of power. And if the feeling of power, because like all games we play a part, and if it is not completely pure sometimes with kundalini and so we misuse it by feeling we are advanced farther than we are. And then, when we find out that we are not, it is very scary, as we should say. So the greatest path, kundalini yoga is good, but it can only be used when you have a master to guide you who is also going that route. The greatest path is the path of total purification, total surrenderance. I was talking to a young man last night about divine will, and I was talking to a man today about free will. Free will plays a big part in our lives we feel. It is not a magic quality like we sometimes think. When we are dogs and cats, and there are dogs and cats out there in the world now, and they do every things according to a "semi-divine will", I call it. Because they go by instincts. They really don't face decisions - should I eat now? Should I fast today? That doesn't cross their mind. And so they are not held responsible for the things they do. But we as mankind are a little more advanced mentally-wise, and it is our thought, "Oh, I see that I have a decision to make." No longer does instinct rule us. It tries to. Instinct is many times the inner voice, but many times we don't listen, and we find that we have a decision to make, and this is free will. But then we think, as it was posed to me today, "Well, if everything follows a set pattern, then where does the free will come in?" Free will is illusion, because it is the illusion part of divine will, just as there is illusion in reality, there is free will in divine will. It takes free will to get us back to God, because in the animal kingdom they just keep doing what they feel like they should do. In the mankind kingdom, we suddenly stop and think, "Wait a minute, I have a choice. What will I do?" And in this choice, we choose to leave God, and then we choose to come back again. And although we are in a karmic pattern we say, and everything is going like it should be, or else it couldn't be going. That's true. But part of our karmic pattern is to exercise this free will by turning it into divine will. Free will lets us think that we have to hurry, and that is good sometimes - sometimes. So free will is the illusion of divine will, and if we have not experienced what we term free will and could not make our own decisions, then never could we have the opportunity to surrender our free will to God and bring down divine will through us. So it is a very necessary part of illusion. Free will - the main thing we mistake is that sometimes we feel it is a magical gift - and it is not. It is just a part of development. Just like being on earth is part of our development, so is having free will. But it is illusion too. And it fades away when we realize that free will is nothing more than our illusion...our illusion self saying, "You are not doing what God wants you to do." And when we surrender our free will, we discover that we are just awakening to divine Will, which is free will in its highest form. Do you understand that, Bill Muerdter? A little bit of a puzzled look there. I don't know how clear I'll make this.

Do you have any questions about anything? I'll try to answer them.

QUESTION: I had a curious dream that concerned a lot of people, most of them with us now...Hans and Lyra. Bill Muerdter, Fred Brown, Don and Vesta. We were meeting in a large room whirh was very plain. A sort of cinder block construction, with folding chairs. We were gathering in the spirit of a Friday night meeting, and a woman came in who reminded me very much of Harriet Mann and also Ginger, and they sat down and then a voice filled the room.

SERENA: They are very good friends - they get along very well. That's why they were together.

QUESTION: And the voice told them that it was time to prepare for it was the beginning of the session. And it was not a male or female but came from everywhere. The voice was now in the spirit of someone sitting there. And as we grew still she started speaking then and she said, "In the year 2600."

SERENA: Are you going to be around then, Harriet?

QUESTION: On this particular day this waterfall was revealed to those who were ready. I remember that Fred Brown and Bill Muerdter were of the first to go over it.

SERENA: Do you know what that is? Spiritual outpouring. Waterfall being opened is a spiritual outpouring. 2600! We better get to work! Go ahead.

QUESTION: Bill Muerdter sat down...

SERENA: The eternal yogi. Water is spirit and a We better get to work!

QUESTION: After I saw them going, I followed thinking, "If they're going, it must be pretty great!" We walked over to the waterfall and stood at an overlook. There was a wrought iron railing, set into the barren rock. The waterfall was dry. There was no water.

SERENA: Well, they say that we are seeking to reach the top of a mountain, that would be your overlook.

QUESTION: Yet even though the waterfall had no water, there was movement, there was motion, and to get into the waterfall you would have to leap off of the mountain.

SERENA: And it takes courage. "Fear not, for lo, I am the waterfall." That's really great.

QUESTION: And after you leap into the waterfall, you become the waterfall.

SERENA: That's the whole idea.

QUESTION: Instead of the water, there were horizontal bars...quite like a player piano roll. Do you know what I mean? These bars were staggered in no particular order, and they were the only means of support. And so when you jumped you had to make sure to hang on to one of them.

SERENA: So you can be a part of what was being played.

QUESTION: And then it was almost as if you were walking up a down escalator, was the feeling.

SERENA: I was talking about an escalator today. Kevin you keep an eye on her. Any questions? Or am I talking to a group of God-realized souls and I didn't notice it. Any questions? Or anything you want to do.

QUESTION: Tell us a little bit about your trip to New York.

SERENA: Oh, yes, I've just been to New York. And had a very nice time. I learned a lot of things about people.

QUESTION: Did you see the gold? Mommy said she did. Note from Fred 2016: This was Sydney Brown’s question.

SERENA: Right. The Scythian Gold was at the Metropolitan Museum while we were there. So, we had a very nice time. We were able to visit a spiritual Master when we were there, which we were very honored and graced and there aren't words, but I'll try to find some. We went to New York, and the whole idea was to leave on Friday night after the meeting because we definitely wanted to be at a 7:00 meditation on Saturday which would be given by Sri Chinmoy, who is a Spiritual Master from India. And we got into New York at 2:00 (am) on Saturday, and we were tired. We had not slept all night. We had driven. Nobody slept, a cross between excitement and a rough car to sleep in. We were all talking all night. And we had discourses all the way to New York about everything. And so at 2:00 we got into New York on Long Island, and Linda Mayhew dialed and they said, "Oh, I'm sorry but Sri Chinmoy is not in." And just, "Oh, well, O.K. We'll go to the meditation anyway," we said. God, if He wills it, then we will see him. If not, it is nice to walk in the same city the man has walked in. And so we got to the meditation at 7:00 or 7:30 on Saturday night, and we were really tired, but we were keeping there because we wanted to be there so much, and he wasn't there, but it was a very nice meditation. It was just what we needed to balance what we had just driven through. It was quite amazing, all that noise. And then you get in there, and it was like another world in that meditation room. You didn't know New York was there. And so then a young man stood up at the meditation and he said, "Well, Sri Chinmoy won't be back for three weeks." Oh, we can't stay in New York that long, because I had said, "I'm staying until I see him." But three weeks was a long time, and I couldn't stay that long. It was no way possible. So we accepted it as fate, and said, "O.K., Thy Will be done with all of us," and walked outside. And I felt strongly that I should talk to this young man, and it was very nice that we did, because his name was Vajra, and he was a disciple of Sri Chinmoy. And the next thing you know, he had our telephone number, and we had his, and he was taking us to a vegetarian restaurant the next day. And he called the next morning, and to Linda Mayhew's surprise, he said, "I have arranged for you to have a special meeting with Sri Chinmoy this evening. And we all fell over, and got back up and got ready to go. They took us, the disciples did.

Well, the other thing is, it was raining, and we were going to have to take a subway to Jamaica. And we were getting wet, and we were walking down the highway, or the street in New York, and strangely enough, two more disciples went driving past us and Vajra flags them down and we get a ride all the way to the restaurant. And they brought us lunch, and they paid for our meal at the vegetarian restaurant very nicely, and then took us to another disciple's house, named Nancy, so that we could freshen up before we went to the meditation. We had a special invitation to attend a closed meeting and it was just great. It was just grace all the way through that got us in. And so it was at a church. And we went in and you are not going to believe what we did. We watched "Rose Kennedy Remembers" with Sri Chinmoy. That was so incredible just to think of what we were doing there. That there was actually a television and everyone was watching television with a God-realized Master was in itself quite a thing, who was wearing blue knit pants and a ski jacket at that. It was really nice. And so we met really a lot of nice people, and everyone was so good to us. And we just had a lot of experiences and learned a lot of things, and now on May 30, as far as we know, right in this room, John McLaughlin, the guitarist, and his wife, Mahalakshmi, are coming down maybe with another disciple, and she is bringing a film on guru Sri Chinmoy and some books, and so we are going to, all of you, you're going to get to see a film of him, and you are going to have a·chance to buy some of his books and we are going to have all kinds of communications between New York and Hendersonville. We are mailing a tape of our music up and they are mailing a tape of their Maha Vishnu's choir to us. So it just really seemed like a very fruitful thing. And we were in New York and Fred called, and he had a job, and it was just incredible. Everything was going on. It was really nice. We learned a lot.

QUESTION(Sydney): And you saw dinosaurs.

SERENA: That was the least amazing part. Sri Chinmoy was the best. And now I have an announcement that is going to catch a few people really by surprise. I was sitting in New York last Thursday all alone, and I had an 8 X 10 garden to sit in and 6 X 6 inches of blue sky facing me if I could hold my head up that long. And a man right beside me, that was as much privacy as I could get in the city. Linda and Linda went to the Metropolitan Museum, and a voice very clearly said, "Serena," and I said, "Yes." It said, "When you go back on Friday night, I want you to announce that this is the last meeting in the W.O.W. hall that you will have, because we have something else for you to do for a while." And I said, "O.K."

And I've been happy and sad and all about it, but it is what should be done now. So this is the last one for awhile. I am not sure where this will take us now in our episode of experiences. It seems that I am going to be available for small groups and for talks anywhere. Anything anyone wants me to do, if I have got time I will do it, which I am sure I will have time. And just to generally have people over and see what happens then. And so that is what I will be doing from now on. And the W.O.W. hall we would like to very humbly and graciously thank you for the service that you have given us. It has really been a nice place. It let us be free in here. And I'd like to thank all of you, which I am sure I will see all of you again, definitely. But thank you very much for making all the effort here work. You were the ones that directed it, produced it, created it, and made it. Thank you very much. I had a lot of nice experiences.

I don't feel like I'll be talking again in this room. Isn't that a strange thing. But I'll be talking somewhere else, because I can't keep my mouth closed. So I'll give a discourse somewhere. But it has been very nice here. Andy, I'd like to thank. you. Andy is our M. P., our mike passer. And we have a lot of ideas and anyone who would like to help. What we want to do, another thing the voice said when it came floating in New York that day... It said, "Serena, I want you to produce a record album." and I said, "O.K." So that is what we are going to start doing now. Anyone interested, if you can sing or if you can't sing, or if you can play something or if you can't, if you can clap your hands, you are welcome. That's all the requirements. We are going to produce a record album, maybe several albums, of our own music, our own songs, anything you have written or heard in your head and can hum and we can write, it would be greatly appreciated. We are going to compile it all, combine it all, and put it on there no matter what it is. Any contribution of any kind. A saying, a meditation, a song, a prayer, a chant, or just a look. We are going to put it there. And also the voice said that it was time that we transcribed the almost fifty tapes that we have from our sessions. And we are going to put it together and maybe we will have a book to offer of our life and times in Hendersonville thus far. So. I'm sure you'll get on that album, Sydney. I feel it.
