October 29, 1975

Serena: It is our prayer that men may come to understand that God is infinite peace, infinite joy, infinite happiness: that all men may come to know God, may come to find peace--eternal bliss of understanding within his own being.

The body is a temple--we have an outer temple and an inner temple. When Jesus ran the money lenders from the temple, he exclaimed, “My temple is to be a house of prayer, but all of you have made it a den of thieves!” He was signifying that you must purify these temples. You must rid them of greed and lust and anger and surrender them to God. They should become temples of purity. We must seek to purify all our relationships with mankind--the inner relationship and the outer relationship. It should become one of love--loving the God within all creation, and only then, pure, true love.

Each day we should meditate on bringing divine illumination into this temple that we have been given.

In our meditation, if there must be thoughts which disturb us, then let us master the thoughts which are going to come. Let the thoughts not be of all the outer surroundings, or all the things which are pressuring us, but let us become master of our thoughts and all thoughts which begin to come to the mind during the time of meditation. We shall transcend negative thoughts, and think only thoughts of divine surrenderance, of meditation, of peace, of understanding, of love.

Each day we should meditate on the heart center--that part of us which is called God’s Divine Ocean. Meditate by allowing a tremendous, powerful stream of light... let it go forth from your being unto all the world. Much as an ocean, letting go a divine light to purify and to cleanse the world.

We should also meditate on the throat center--the temple of Universal Sound. Let light stream forth from the throat center unto the heavens, gaining the grace of all God’s power, the power to manifest complete positive speaking--a beautiful sound; to capture the universal sound of God’s creation in your voice.

We should also meditate on the vision center located between our eyes in the physical body upon our forehead. This is the temple of Universal Vision. Let light stream forth from this temple to cleanse and to purify, and to allow us, in our inner being, to gain the inner vision of God--the vision of the soul, the vision which will reveal to us the key to all understanding.

Now we meditate on the top of our head: the doorway to the realm of soul, the veil which enables us to maintain a physical body. Let light stream forth from this center, the center of Universal Knowledge, unto the heavens and unto the earth, from out of our inner being and our outer being.

Now we shall begin to meditate on the language, the physical language, the universal language that God has given mankind to speak with, the language of English... (inaudible)

I wish each of you to take a turn, and each give me one word which is important to your heart: a spiritual word, the word love, children, faith, whatever it might be, and then I will speak on that word. Begin with Mr. Foote.

Q: Everlasting life.

Serena: Everlasting life is the promise of the Supreme, a gift which God seeks constantly to give unto man. It is already our divine birthright, the everlasting life of God. Eternity is ours. God but patiently waits for us to gain realization of all the kingdoms that he has placed within us.

Q: Compassion

Serena: Compassion is the very smile of the Mother aspect of God. Compassion is the Mother’s heart supreme. Compassion is the very vessel in which the Mother carries the sorrow and the ignorance of this world and others upon her back, upon her breast, upon her body. Compassion is the very essence of the Supreme Mother.

Q: Faith

Serena: Faith is the very doorway to service, the very path leading us to the question of why serve, how serve, when serve. Faith is the very quality in which aspiration develops abundantly. We are now entering the age of faith, the time when men shall believe above all other times. When God’s grace shall so descend upon earth that we shall have proof of God’s existence, both in the inner and the outer world. All of the mind’s questions shall be answered, the heart’s questions shall be answered, and faith shall rise abundant upon the earth.

Q: Joy

Serena: Joy is the very essence of all creation. Creation is sustained by the emotion, the feeling, the life of joy. It was through joy that God first created. It was when God discovered within His own being a boundless love, a boundless joy and boundless peace--joy reigning above all, that he was able, in His supreme delight, to discover within his own being the ability to give life, to bring joy to other creatures. So therefore, God created.

Q: Trust

Serena: Trust is a word which is needed most among mankind himself. If we can but learn to trust each other, to believe in each other and each other’s abilities, then we will know God in the physical form. Trust is important: it is the balance point between two beings, But we can trust when we can believe, and belief itself is the essence of the living love.

Q: Peace

Serena: Peace is the highest achievement in God’s world. Peace is the very essence of all things we strive to achieve. Peace is that which will be brought to earth in the coming age. Peace is the very end of the term “world ignorance.” Peace itself is supreme reality, supreme creation, supreme joy.

Q: Love

Serena: Love is the thing which created creation. Love is the creator. It is through love that creation is sustained. It is through love that we can aspire. Love itself is grace, pure grace. When we are allowed to love, to feel love, to receive love, it is God’s abundant grace. God’s grace is pure love. It was through God discovering within himself the power of love that brought about grace, and this grace and love brought about supreme joy and delight. Thus creation was formed. The formless took form, and love began to grow and to manifest itself.

Q: This earth

Serena: This earth is the very heart of God’s eternal love, This earth is a playground God constructed to play among His own being. This earth is a world constructed where souls may come together, and from ignorance rise unto wisdom, from darkness rise unto light, from hate rise unto love. This is the eternal playground for all God’s creatures to come here and to perfect their own being. Unlike other worlds, earth is a world of great turmoil, great sadness, but it is through this turmoil and sadness that everlasting peace is achieved. So this earth is very special to all God’s beings, to God Himself, whose heart lies upon this earth.

Note: After a pause, she spoke these verses…

Once my soul sat by the sea, caressing her golden shores. As dawn upon the sleepy town where first my memories were born. I felt I was but in God’s hand following only His will. Alas, poor man! Alas poor man! You cannot my love sweet kill. The ocean said it was my tears that came from the pain of ages. My heartfelt cries of peace and God would bind themselves upon My heart’s deep pages.

‘Tis to be, Oh ‘tis to be, the sand spoke unto me, As I do give, so you must give your all unto the sea. And so it was, I saw it is until this perfection day, My all is given to the sea, its boundless love and all I say. Next, I think I’ll be a star and glisten in the sky Twinkling twice of every man who stops to question why.

I my goal have become each and every age. I clothe myself with eternity’s finest To manifest my love unto you. The Cosmic Game I am; it’s shadow of divine experience I seek to awaken within your eager hearts. Upon each dawn, I, with grace, awaken a new dawn unto all men. There at the threshold of time and timelessness I stand, And take upon myself the clothing of my illusion-image, Thus the power to manifest, once absorbed by infinity And her playmates, becomes mine-- To share, to give, to awaken unto. Thus, my eternal promise unto you of complete service in the inner world Does manifest before the eyes of men.

O mind, I wish you to become illuminated. Through my love for you my understanding where you abide is but turmoil. I give unto you a divine instrument, an instrument to search out peace, And this instrument shall be the very name of God.

O heart, the very life force of all things, my soul-vision, I grant unto you my willingness to listen to your divine understanding. I call upon you to act throughout my being, to speak unto me, To give me your infinite understanding, which is that of God’s.

O soul, I bow to you, for you are the very image of god. Work throughout my being, you who have vision of God’s inner world, Of God’s plan for all creation. Work throughout my being and grant unto man peace and joy.

O Mother of God, you who do take the pains of this universe Unto you own being, so as to purify and enlighten your children. I pray that ignorance within my being shall end. No more shall I cause you pain, but I shall work beside you, taking the load From upon your shoulders unto my own.

O God, I bow to thee. In my inner world your presence is felt. In the outer world you presence is seen. O God, I bow to thee. For all the things that you have granted me: Your vision, your sense of beauty, your joy, your peace, your power, your willingness to serve.

O Supreme, we bow to thee.

Each day and each night my I have the ability to aspire, The grace to aspire for your touch, your glance, you vision. O Supreme, you are all that exists within my heart, All that exists within my soul, all that exists within my mind. You, only you, Supreme, I am yours, all yours, and you are mine

O Supreme, I see that when I surrender to you all my possessions in the inner world, You surrender to me all your possessions in the outer world. In the inner world I am climbing to your Supreme height; I manifest devotion, love, complete understanding, And ever listening with Supreme ears to your voice. In the outer world you represent Supreme delight, total joy, total beauty, total peace.

O Supreme, I am your child, your eternal child, born in my Father’s image. Heir to all the kingdom. Father, I am your feet upon the earth, treading among your children, Playing with all the games you have supplied us to play with, Seeking out your face in all things, devoting my life to service for you, only to please you, Knowing that when I please you, I have pleased the soul of all creation; I have pleased all things.

O Supreme, Father and Mother to all, we pray for divine strength, Strength in a world of illusion, to gain that which is rightfully ours, You reality, your vision, your peace. We pray for divine strength which will give us the power to attain understanding, The power to overcome all weakness, to see through the fog of illusion To the light of reality.

Thank you, Supreme, for all things. Amen.

Q: Serena, I was thinking on the “thank you” the other morning, and I felt so...it was so infinitesimal just to say thank you for everything God does. It just seems completely inadequate. So you have a better word?

Serena: Well, first we say thank you, and then we begin to feel thank you and then we become thank you. And it’s only when we become, and we transcend any limitation of a word, that we truly give thanks.

Any questions? About anything you ever wanted to know? Nice day, right? It’s good to see you I know Friday night everyone has to come to the party, here, at 7:30.

Q: Serena, Martha mentioned something about maybe having a little rummage sale.

Serena: Right, right. I think that would be really nice, because you all have things that...you could do that, and we could use the money that we get from the rummage sale for a fund for this meditation group, so that whenever...like at Christmas, we want to have a celebration and everything, and then we’ll have the money to do that, and it won’t have to come from someone directly. And also situations like when Mr. Gore hurt his foot, and he was in the hospital, we should have had a fund that would have allowed us to take money there or send flowers to him, but we didn’t have anything, because we weren’t prepared, but now we will begin to get prepared, so we will be able to serve in that way, too. It’s a very physical way of service, but its meaning can be very joyful and very nice. He would have enjoyed that, because he’s been all alone, I think.

Q: Is he back home now?

Serena: Right, he’s home, but he won’t be at the the metaphysical meeting tomorrow night. They can’t a cast on his leg, because it’s on the bottom of his foot. Gives him more time to meditate. He needed slowing down. He was running very fast in the outer and the inner world, so he got hurt. Did you hear about Mr. Gore? He was on a ladder and he fell and hurt his foot; he broke the heel of his foot. So he suffered quite a bit of pain.

Q: He said that was the first time in his life he has felt pain.

As you see, we have the book shelves up. Martha, my daughter, is going to operate a metaphysical bookstore. We’ll try to have records and books of the Masters. We call it the Master’s Voice and Book Store. We’ll try to keep good books, and not go into spiritualism or anything of that nature. Just people like Meher Baba, Sri Chinmoy, and some of the Masters.

Serena: What’s going to be made available, which is very nice, is you’re going to be able to come in here, and we’re going to have stereo headphones so you’ll be able to listen to albums by Bubba Free John, by Sri Chinmoy, by Bhagavan Das, by Baba Ram Das...and after you hear it here, then you can decide if you want to place an order for it, so you will have that opportunity, and it will be quite enjoyable. Bubba Free John is very interesting.

Q: There will be several chairs in here at all times.

Serena: If you can’t afford to buy it, then you can come in every day and read it.

Q: That’s what they had at the Whole Earth Bookstore.

Serena: That’s the most important thing: making that knowledge available and getting everyone associated with different Masters who have been on the earth. Most of my interest lies in those that have already left the body. They did a lot of things and the earth quickly forgets, so we recall that we were giving the earth nice things that went on before this time.

On Sunday I’ll begin my book, so then there’ll be so many that we won’t be able to sell anything but...I have about a thousand titles, one hundred books I’ve got started. It should be interesting.

Q: I did want all of you to know that nothing really has changed as far as I can tell, about Serena, at all. We intend to go right ahead on the book. The book will be written, it will be printed, and it will be published very quickly now. It will be made available I hope you all will have continued faith in Serena. She has gotten through...although we may not know it.

Serena: Mr. Foote and I have been subjected to so many people who have tried to run me out of this world. But the book’s going on, it’s true.

Q: Everything’s going on.

Serena: Things have changed: they’ve gotten better, if you really want to know. They’ve gotten easier, they’ve gotten higher, and they’ve gotten nicer.
